Following the March 30th all-school meeting, Kate O’Keefe ’27 and Lucas Gee’ 27 were elected as all-school presidents for the upcoming school year. The student body listened closely to each candidate as they questioned which one would best fit the position.
Taking on the role of All-School President requires diligent work to improve the school community and staying open to feedback. From working with Flik to meeting with Mr. Mulder, all school presidents work behind the scenes to advocate for each student.
As O’Keefe ’27 mentioned in an interview for this article, her advocacy for the student body matters most. As the new school year begins, she plans to work closely with all students to ensure every member of our community feels at home. For some, it’s the constant support from their peers and teachers that makes Berkshire special, but for others, it’s the act of giving back. Gee ’27 wants to give back the same connection and opportunity to underclassmen that he had received from the upperclassmen whom he looked up to.
Creating a space where underclassmen can work towards their goals is crucial in fostering an inclusive environment at Berkshire. Together, their goals highlight what it means to strengthen Berkshire from across the community. As this year comes to a close, students and faculty are eager to experience how O’Keefe ’27 and Gee ’27 will shape campus life for all the bears next fall.
