With the warm weather finally making its way on campus, so have some of Berkshire’s favorite springtime activities. Nothing says “spring” quite like evenings on the turf or relaxing in Buck Valley after lunch. After months of cold, dark winter days, a noticeable shift has taken over campus. Students and faculty alike are spending more time outdoors, soaking up the sun and enjoying the energy of the changing season.
When everyone returns from spring break, conversations quickly turn to the warmer days ahead. Plans to hang out on the turf are circulating as students wait for the weather to warm. Once it does, activities quickly take over. Whether it’s an intense spikeball match, a casual game of frisbee, or a group kicking around a soccer ball, the turf is humming with activity every night. Buck Valley is always populated, whether it is after students eat lunch and race to the benches for some sun, or when the grill is on and students are making dinner.
After speaking with students from different grade levels, a few activities stood out. Spikeball remains a classic favorite, always drawing both seasoned players and newcomers into games. Meanwhile, hacky sack has emerged as a popular addition. While it is not new to everyone, it has gained a lot of attention this spring, with more students picking it up as a fun challenge and a way to pass their free time.
As the days grow increasingly warmer, these fun activities and ways to connect continue to define the happy spirit that spring brings to Berkshire.
