The Berkshire School Radio Show is off to a great start this fall. With a record-breaking number of DJs, WBSL 91.7 FM is buzzing with energy. There is no shortage of things to listen to with a wide variety of shows across the schedule: from great music to interesting podcasts, WBSL has it all.
Here at Berkshire, we are fortunate to have the radio station as a club open to all students. WBSL enables DJs to share their opinions, engage in on-air conversations, or simply sit back and play their favorite tunes. What you might hear during the hour segments on each weekly show, however, takes preparation and commitment. WBSL shows can be led by up to four people, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in producing a successful show. DJs collaborate in developing ideas for thoughtful conversations or in identifying individuals to interview for a podcast. Interviews can be conducted with fellow students, teachers, alumni, or others outside the Berkshire community who can offer meaningful insights into the topic of a show.
As more than just a way for the Berkshire community to come together and connect, the radio shows allow DJs to grow as producers. In creating their own show, DJs learn to be creative, become confident, and improve their organizational skills. WBSL 91.7 FM remains a source of great pride for the Berkshire School, offering engaging content and numerous opportunities.
