On a lovely Thursday night with a cool autumn breeze, the Berkshire Fall Music Concert brought talented bears on stage. Families who came for family weekend joined our performance, sharing this Berkshire tradition. Our Chamber Music Ensemble, Ursa Minor, Digital Music Class, Chorus, Guitar Ensemble, Greensleeves, and Jazz Band showcased their work.
Among the many highlights, Guitar Ensemble, a new class created for students of any level interested in playing the instrument, stood out. Bringing to the stage a sing-along performance of the song “Wagon Wheel,” they gave the audience an enjoyable, engaging time, inviting them to clap and hum along. Despite it being their first time on stage, they did an awesome job performing their set with unmatched confidence! Their music truly lit up everyone’s night, engraving this Fall Concert into Berkshire’s history and our memories. The Chamber Music Ensemble also shared their passion through the music pieces “Brandenburg Concerto” and “The Force of Nature.” Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto” was lively and joyful, reflecting the typical Baroque music style. On the other hand, “The Force of Nature” described natural disasters through music, giving off a mysteriously powerful atmosphere. It captivated the audience with a dramatic tone that mimics the unpredictability of natural disasters.
The concert concluded with Berkshire’s female-identifying accapella group, Ursa Minor, whose impressive showcase of the song “Runaway” brought the evening to a beautiful end. Their harmonies filled the room with awe, and the bears who sang solo sections blew the audience away.
The night of the Fall Concert is a reminder of how music brings people together, fostering a tight-knit community of students, faculty, and families. This evening was much more than just a concert; it was a night of creativity and collaboration that each member on stage and in the crowd enjoyed with all their hearts.
