After years of learning and laughter under the Mountain, seniors are approaching their final days at Berkshire. While it’s easy to get caught up in the exciting and busy last trimester, seniors are reflecting on their favorite memories at Berkshire.
When reminiscing about countless weekend events and Green vs. Gray games, choosing their favorite Berkshire tradition proved challenging for the senior class.
Abby Eisen, a prefect in the CGR dorm, reflected that she will miss Winter Carnival the most. It is her favorite tradition because it’s “the only time a whole dorm can be together and form bonds that can only come from doing 9:30 pm dance practices and costume rehearsals. The laughs and genuine good memories it has brought over my years at Berkshire are something I will always remember and miss dearly.”
Nathalie Fenton, our All-School President, will also miss the Winter Carnival the most. She will never forget “the memories from competing in tug of war competitions to watching friends perform on stage.”
As their time at Berkshire comes to a close, our seniors hope to leave a mark on their community. After reflecting on their favorite moments under the Mountain, they offered some valuable advice for underformers.
Abby Eisen suggests “slowing down.” As “Berkshire can be such a fast-paced school, it’s easy to get swept into the daily grind and chaos, but you only have so much time here, and trust me, it flies by faster than you can imagine. So try to enjoy every moment, even the bad, because one day you will be looking back at your time here and realize it was a one-of-a-kind experience and a community that you won’t find anywhere else!”
For her most meaningful advice for underformers, Nathalie Fenton encourages her peers to “Try Everything!” She shared how she is grateful that “Berkshire provides us so many opportunities,” and recommends that “if anything interests you, do it!”
As the end of the trimester approaches and exciting summer plans approach us, it’s important to cherish our time under the Mountain, whether you’re a senior soon embarking on a new journey in college or a freshman experiencing your first Berkshire spring.
