On Friday, October 10th, Berkshire’s campus was filled with joy and love as students reconnected with their families. Parents, siblings, and grandparents arrived on campus to enjoy the place we know as home. Family Weekend is a wonderful way for us students to show our families what our life is like under the Mountain. On Friday, parents were invited to attend panels, meet with their child’s advisor, and watch their child’s after-school activity. During this time, parents got the chance to meet teammates and coaches.
Later in the evening, families attended the annual blackout football game under the lights against Noble & Greenough and contributed to our school spirit immensely. The game was intense, the stands were packed, and the cheering from the large crowd of people was extraordinary. Sadly, the end score was 24–28 with Nobles & Greenough scoring a touchdown during the last minutes; although, without a doubt, it was one of the most entertaining football games that our team has played.
The next morning, on Saturday, October 11th, family members attended their bears’ classes, meeting teachers and getting a glimpse into what classes and course material look like. Midway through the day, Mr. Mulder shared remarks in Berkshire Hall, while parents and students enjoyed fresh apple-cider donuts. After classes, many family members headed to the courts and fields to cheer on the afternoon games. At the end of the games, most students and their families headed off campus, beginning their precious weekend to spend time with their loved ones.
