Who could imagine the months of planning, dedication, and creativity that go into each Revisit Day? Well, there is no better person to talk with about that process than Allison Letourneau, Head of Admissions. Along with the admissions team, students, and faculty, she ensures every Revisit Day is a memorable experience.
Biondo: What is your favorite part of Revisit Days?
Letourneau: There’s so much I love about them. It’s honestly my favorite part of the school year, and not just because I’m the Director of Admissions! One of my favorite moments comes at the end of revisit days, after families have left, when I head over to the bookstore and collect all of the receipts from families who bought Berkshire merchandise. Our staff keeps track of last names, so I can often tell who’s likely to enroll. Based on our data, there’s about a 90% chance those families will choose Berkshire.
Biondo: What’s unique about the Class of 2029?
Letourneau: This class is incredibly dynamic, diverse, and ambitious. They come from all over the world, and they’re ready to make Berkshire even stronger. What’s particularly special is that these are kids who want to be here; for many of them, Berkshire was their first choice. There’s already a strong sense of pride in who they are. It’s going to be an amazing group, and we can’t wait to welcome them!
Biondo: What’s it like preparing for Revisit Days?
Letourneau: In admissions, we often joke that preparing for Revisit Days is like planning a wedding…except we do it three times! It’s both thrilling and demanding. What makes our Revisit Days unique is the number of people who contribute to their success. We had over 200 students and faculty involved in the program this year. That level of community involvement is something truly special about Berkshire. There’s a lot of coordination with many different stakeholders, but that’s part of the authenticity and magic here under the Mountain.
Biondo: You’re transitioning from admissions to become Assistant Head of School. What will you miss the most?
Letourneau: Working in admissions at Berkshire has been a dream of mine since I was 15. I will miss traveling the world to share this incredible place with prospective students and families. I will also miss the Chase House team, a special and dedicated group of educators, and I’ll miss working in the Chase House building. It’s the oldest building on campus, and I will always hold space for it in my heart.
