During these long and frigid winter months, Berkshire’s Bears tend to hibernate in their rooms, avoiding the cold at all costs. But… as soon as the annual Green & Gray Ball was announced, warmth was no longer a concern. My friends and I—a herd of freezing girls dressed for summer temperatures—excitedly sped and walked to the Soffer Athletic Center, anticipation filling the air.
After checking in with the Green and Grey captains, to help our teams gather points, we were greeted with a vibrant buffet of fresh sushi and desserts. After weeks of dining hall meals, this spread had us wide-eyed and jaw-dropped.
Upon entering the basketball court through an illuminated tunnel, we were welcomed by the dance floor’s electric atmosphere. Despite a few speaker mishaps and malfunctions, the DJ delivered hit after hit, with nearly everyone singing along and showing off their best moves. The dance floor was packed, every Bear intermingling with each other.
By the end of the night, it was clear this dance wasn’t just an escape from the winter blues–it was the highlight of the season. The buzz around the dining hall the next morning said the exact same thing: the 2025 Green and Gray Ball was the best dance of the year!
