As we begin a new year under the Mountain, Bears have been busy with many winter-friendly activities. With temperatures dropping as we settle back in after a rejuvenating winter break, students have embarked on a Winter Trimester filled with community fun.
To begin, Bears were invited to a skating party the first weekend back on campus, featuring the “Best Damn Espresso Truck.” Students and faculty were served craft espresso drinks, hot chocolate, hot cider, tea, brownies, and cookies while learning to skate and spending time with friends on the ice!
The following weekend, on Saturday the 18th, students were invited to the Green and Grey Ball to dance the night away. The Ball included a photo booth that captured the excitement of the dance, a lively DJ, and a snack bar that offered pigs in a blanket, sushi, and other delicious treats! That Sunday, RKMP offered Bears the opportunity to embrace the snowy weather and visit Catamount, a local ski resort, to learn how to ski and snowboard!
The weekend of the 25th, the Bears’ weekend schedule was filled with Prize Bingo Night, where students could win prizes that ranged from lava lamps to TVs. The next morning was filled with anticipatory excitement as Bears headed to Stratton, Vermont, on the annual ski and snowboard trip!
Berkshire Bears wrapped up the month with the highly anticipated Winter Carnival! Winter Carnival Trivia Night was held on Friday, January 31st, where each dorm partnered with another to complete the Pathfinders scavenger hunt and trivia questions throughout the night. The weekend culminated on a Saturday night filled with laughter and excitement as dorms competed in challenges such as relay races, tug of war, dog sled races, and, of course, the renowned ice skits! Each dorm performed a choreographed dance in front of the school and Winter Carnival judges. Find out who won Winter Carnival 2025 in this article.
