Dear Readers of The Green and Gray Newspaper,
As we embark on a new school year, we, Trevor and Claire, the new Editors-in-Chief, would like to share a message highlighting our current and future goals for The Green and Gray. We believe that looking to the past holds the key to our future—meaning journalistic integrity and frequency of publication are of the utmost importance to our publication. The Green and Gray has always been a bastion of student voices and opinions, and we hope that this year, we will be able to spread these voices more frequently. The Green and Gray has been a record of student reactions to various world events; as the Berkshire community becomes more diverse, articles in The Green and Gray will mirror that reality. Embracing the complicated, enlightening, and at times uncertain world we live in through the lens of student writing will not only strengthen our community but help those in the future who look to The Green and Gray to witness how the Berkshire community stayed true to our values in the most difficult of times.
At its core, The Green and Gray has always been a reflection of our Berkshire community. The Green and Gray looks to publish a variety of articles centering around the Berkshire experience, from school news to student opinion. We recognize the formidable power that student voice has during times of change or uncertainty and commit ourselves to continuously supporting and expanding the integrity and frequency of the publication.
We aspire to incorporate additional sections and columns, such as a Berkshire Wordle and Connections. We are not expanding The Green and Gray simply to expand, but rather to recognize the significant role our publication plays (and can play) in making our school community more connected, joyful, and inquisitive.
As we continue on this journey of evolution and expansion, we humbly ask for your support. Whether that means picking up a copy after All-School Meeting, joining our staff, or checking out our website (berkshiregreenandgray.org), we appreciate your patronage. Stay curious, stay informed, and stay excited.
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Trevor and Claire
