On Saturday, October 12th, students gathered on the football field to enjoy the Fall Festival. This year’s Fall Festival, hosted by StuCo, had fun activities, fall-inspired snacks, and ambient music for all to enjoy. There were relaxed activities like face-painting, Jenga, a tie-dye station, and of course, a classic fall tradition: pumpkin carving. Additionally, to introduce a competitive spirit there were volleyball games, spikeball competitions, and the most popular: relay races. The relay races consisted of different categories including dizzy bat (where you spin in a circle and then race to the finish line), three-legged race, and the classic sprint. While my team unfortunately did not end the night with a victory, there was a contagious spirit among all the teams whether they won or lost.
While students were either participating in games or hanging out with friends, there were many snacks to enjoy. There were classic fall snacks like donuts, caramel apples, hot chocolate, and cider, along with a taco truck serving tacos and churros! The food was especially appreciated by those who worked up an appetite during the games. Another notable food item was the pies at the pie-eating contest! The pie-eating contest drew a lively and energetic crowd with all students eagerly watching, waiting for the chaos to unfold. The four students participating in each round devoured their pies using only their mouths as their hands were tied behind their backs and only slowed down when laughing from being cheered on by the large audience.
Not only was the Fall Festival a festive and joyous way for students to be entertained on a Saturday night it was also a great way for students in every form to connect. Events like the Fall Festival are a memorable way to create fun and competitive opportunities that welcome the entire school. Special thanks to StuCo for the excellent planning and preparations that went into curating another amazing Fall Festival under the Mountain!
