On Saturday, October 19th, Berkshire families filled campus to attend their Bears’ classes and experience life under the Mountain! It was a fun-filled time spent with families and an opportunity to foster new connections.
Some parents arrived on campus on Friday, October 18th, and were offered the option to participate in meetings, connect with their child’s advisor, attend their child’s after-school activity, and more! Later on, families were offered dinner at the vast array of food trucks at the turf. Not long after, Berkshire hosted a black-out football game under the lights, where all students and families dressed in all black to support Varsity Football against Canterbury. The football game was a delightful way to bring families together, with food, drinks, and even s’mores. The student section was extremely exuberant, widely demonstrating Berkshire School spirit. The football game was a success, with the Bears taking home a win and a great night for families overall. The Bears fought to help win the Sheehan Cup, a celebrated tradition honoring Berkshire’s rivalry with Canterbury School.
On Saturday the 19th, families arrived on campus to attend their Bears’ classes beginning at 8:30 a.m. Each class was 15 minutes, with a ten-minute passing period between classes. These short periods allowed parents a snippet of the courses their children are enrolled in, their teachers, and the course material. In between classes, Head of School, Pieter Mulder, spoke to families about Berkshire and the school year ahead. After classes, parents were invited to their children’s games, if any, or take them off campus! Most teams played Canterbury on Family Weekend, encouraging a competitive school spirit. These games were spread out between Friday and Saturday, with Girls JV Soccer bringing home the win for Berkshire on Saturday afternoon, securing the cup until next year…
Fall Family Weekend was a memorable way for students to show their families life under the Mountain and all this amazing place offers!
